The Amateur Owners of Battaglia Farms

Gabrielle Sitomer -Since 1987 Gabrielle has been showing the Arabian horse. She has won a U.S. National Championship in English Pleasure JOTR a Canadian Reserve National Championship in Half-Arabian English Pleasure AAOTR and has multiple National Top Tens under her belt in Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, English and Country English Pleasure as well as Saddle Seat Equitation. Gabrielle graduated with high honors from both Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and The University of Texas Law School before joining the Houston law firm of Susman Godfrey, L.L.P. On April 9th, 2005 she married Mr. Jason Koy of Houston, where they both reside. Gabrielle's idea of the great escape from her career as a commercial litigation attorney is a trip to Haavana (in Scottsdale), her new, young Country English Pleasure Mare. Gabrielle and Jason are pictured with Haavana.

Jordan DeShazer -- Jordan is currently a freshman at Klein High School where she plays Varsity Lacrosse, is a section editor for the Yearbook, is a member of the Student Council and swam for the Junior Varsity Swim Team. She loves coming to Scottsdale to go shopping-no really, to see her horse of hopefully horses. She enjoys having her retired English horse BBasktezz in her back yard where she can love on him daily. Angela Stanley -- Battaglia Farms introduces long-time friends and clients, Dr. Clay, Angela, and Cole Stanley of Coronado, California. Along with their busy schedule of raising a young son, Clay and Angela find time to travel to horse shows and enjoy wine tasting in the Sonoma Valley. In 2004, Angela won the Triple Crown in the 18-39 Division of Purebred English Pleasure with MWF Benedykt. Benedykt also won Canadian National Championship in Open English Pleasure with Bob Battaglia. Watch for Benedykt in the Pleasure Division in 2005. The Stanley's are pictured with MWF Benedykt.

Linda Kennedy Jackson -- Along with her busy schedule of raising two children (George and Tara) Linda finds time to assist in social and charity functions in Houston society. An avid wine connoisseur and traveler, as well as an accomplished horse woman, she has earned national honors in Half-Arabian and Purebred English, Country and Western divisions.
Linda and George Jackson's family have won eleven national champion and reserve titles with Battaglia Farms in the past four years. Linda is pictured with multi-national champion SWF Central Park at her 2003 Region IX Championship win.

Russell T. Vento, Jr. -- Along with Russ's busy career of managing breeding stallions, Hucklebey Berry, Sultan's Great Day and Revival, he still finds time to ride and show. In 2001 Russ was named Number One Owner of National Champions of Arabian and Half-Arabians in the industry with three horses, Ames Queen, Monrovia X and Emirate and won the prestigious Male Amateur Horseman of the Year Award. In 2001 and 2002 Russ and his horses earned a total of 16 national championships and reserve in the United States and Canada with trainers Bob Battaglia and Joey Canda. Russ is pictured with national champions Ames Queen, Monrovia X and Emirate.

Debby Stephens -- Debby Stephens and husband Mike are owners and breeders of Resting S Ranch in Indian Springs, Alabama as well as being owners of Justafire DGL and breeders of the most nationally decorated Purebred Arabian mare in history S Justadream. Debby is well known for her many national championships and reserve national championships in the Hunter Pleasure and Show Hack divisions both Purebred and Half-Arabian. Although Debby is a very accomplished horsewoman, her and her husband decided to take on a new goal and compete at the national level in performance with the get of their stallion Justafire DGL. In February of 2002 they purchased the Scottsdale Reserve Champion English Pleasure Junior horse Shaken Not Stirred. Less than a year later, Debby and Shake made their first show ring appearance winning a large preliminary class as well as being named champion in the Half-Arabian English Pleasure AOTR at the prestigious Gulf Coast Christmas Show. Marla Ruscitto -- Marla Ruscitto of Empress Arabians rode multi-national champion Hucklebey Berry with Battaglia Farms in the year 2000. They achieved an undefeated year in Purebred English Pleasure AOTR. The crowning achievement was being National Champion Purebred English Pleasure AOTR 18-39. With the support of her parents, Lou and Carol Ruscitto, as well as her in-house horse trainer and brother-in-law, Chad Judy, Marla has just finished a two year stay at Ithaca College in New York and has now moved to Duquene University in Pittsburgh, PA to finish up her business administration and management degree. Duquene is twenty minutes from her home in Venetia, PA where she can be closer to her family and horses. Marla is pictured with multi-national champion Hucklebey Berry who resides at and is managed by Battaglia Farms.

Kate Adornato -- Kate Adornato and her parents George and Deborah Adornato of Alpharetta, Georgia joined Battaglia Farms in 2002 where their first show was the Canadian Nationals. They leased multi-national champion Half-Arabian mare Ames Queen for their daughter Kate to show in Saddle-Seat Equitation. Never a question of pressure for Kate, first time to show ever just happened to be in a national arena where she was named Canadian National Champion Saddle-Seat Equitation 14-17. The duo were so spectacular together that she was purchased by the Adornato family in November of 2002. Kate is picture with multi-national champion Ames Queen.

The Sitomer Family -- In late 2001, the Sitomer Family, Charles, Germania, Gabrielle, Elizabeth, and Amanda, joined Battaglia Farms. No strangers to the national arena in the U.S. and Canada, the family has earned national championships in English Pleasure and Hunter Pleasure in the AOTR divisions. In 2002 the Sitomer Family with their young Half-Arabian English Pleasure horse Air Touch earned the Reserve Canadian National Championship title in Half-Arabian English Pleasure AOTR 18-39, to add to their long list of other accomplishments of U.S. and Canadian nationals. Dr. and Mrs. Sitomer have just purchased multi-national champion Fiona DGL for their three daughters to ride and show. Gabrielle Sitomer of the Sitomer Family is pictured with Air Touch.

Sherry Layne -- Sherry and Bruce Layne of Henderson, Nevada long time friends and clients of Battaglia Farms have earned five national championships and reserves with their Half-Arabian mare Central Park West who is the reigning 2002 Unanimous Canadian National Champion Half-Arabian English Pleasure AOTR 40+ and U.S. Reserve Unanimous National Champion Half-Arabian English Pleasure AOTR 40+ . Quite an achievement for Sherry Layne and Central Park West as the 2002 show season was their first year of competition together. Watch for them to continue their achievements in the Amateur division and the Open Pleasure Driving division with Bob Battaglia. Sherry Layne is pictured with Central Park West.

Dorothy Fogle -- Dorothy Fogle loves life, loves horses, and loves to show. 2002 was the first year for Dorothy and Buddy Fogle of Houston, Texas to join Battaglia Farms. Dorothy achieved her long time goal of being a national champion, not only winning one but winning the United States and Canadian national championship in Half-Arabian Country Pleasure AOTR 40+ with the 11 year old gelding Cameo Encore who also was U.S. National Reserve Champion Half-Arabian Country Pleasure Open and Unanimous Canadian National Champion Half-Arabian Country Pleasure Open with Bob Battaglia. Skyler Vento -- Skyler Vento pictured with the most decorated Purebred Country Pleasure mare in Arabian history, 18 time national champion and reserve Monrovia X. In a two year career Skyler and Monrovia have won national championships at the Youth and Canadian Nationals as well as Scottsdale and regional wins in 2001 the pair won both the JOTR and JTR 13 and under, in 2002 the pair repeated their performance in their age group 14-17 winning national championships in both JOTR and JTR. Skyler, a sophomore, is an honor roll student at Faith Christian Academy in Gilbert, Arizona. Her hobbies include horses, art, dance, and cooking. Skyler is pictured with Monrovia X.

Ted Blanch -- Ted Blanch never an accomplishment too big or too small for Ted whether it be in business or in the national horse show arena. Along with Ted's nationally successful AOTR Halter career, he also enjoys Driving whether it be Open or Amateur, Purebred or Half-Arabian. Ted has won national championships and reserve championships in virtually all the Pleasure Driving divisions Open or Amateur. Ted Blanch is owner and breeder of the Double Diamond Ranch in Boerne, Texas which owns some of the finest purebred performance and halter horses from the United States and Brazil. Watch for Ted to continue to compete in Halter and Pleasure Driving. He is pictured with seven-time national champion JDM Rain Dance.

Tara Jackson -- Tara Jackson has been riding since she was six years old. In her three year career with Battaglia Farms she has earned three national championships, two reserve national championships with her mare SWF Central Park all at the Youth Nationals in the Half-Arabian Country Pleasure division. Tara stays very focused on her studies in school and her hobbies include horses and researching ancient teas and sharing them with her family and friends. Tara is pictured with multi-national champion SWF Central Park.

Nick Brown -- Nick Brown a sophomore at the Denver Academy in Colorado. In 2002, Nick's first year to ride with Battaglia Farms, he earned U.S. National Top Ten and Regional Championships in Purebred English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving. With Nick's busy school schedule he still finds time to be on the honor roll and ride horses. In 2003 watch for Nick in the English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving divisions with his new horse, for his parents Mike and Leah Brown. Nick is pictured with multi-champion Cool Pursuit.

Kate Brown -- Kate Brown in her career with Battaglia Farms has earned national champions in Country Pleasure Driving and U.S. Top Tens in Country Pleasure to add to her long list of accomplishments which include Scottsdale ProAm Challenge, and many regional wins. Kate resides with her parents, Mike and Leah Brown in Indian Hills, Colorado. In 2004 Kate will be attending Veterinarian school at one of the top schools in the country Colorado State University. For many years Kate has done much of her own breeding and veterinarian work, this should be an easy transition for her. Kate is pictured with multi-national champion CF Hucks All Star.

My Time Arabians Christine Eckhout and Carrie Richardson -- My Time Arabians has been associated with Battaglia Farms for the past decade. Battaglia Farms and My Time Arabians work closely together on the My Time breeding program which includes national champion English Pleasure Alyaska Bey V, full sister to Afire Bey V. Alyaska Bey V, dam of three Scottsdale champions, four U.S. and Canadian national champions in Halter and Performance. The next step in the My Time breeding program is the culmination of our two top performance sires, Akros MTA sired by Hucklebey Berry, out of Alyaska Bey V one of the most exciting young colts to watch for. Chris and Carrie are pictured with Alyaska Bey V.

Janet Roberts -- Janet Roberts and her husband Jack reside in Austin, Texas are no strangers to the national arena. In the past twenty years of being involved in the Arabian industry. They are one of the few owners who can say they have won national champions and reserve national champions in virtually all the purebred English Pleasure classes in the United States and Canada (EP Junior Horse, EP Open Pleasure Driving, EP AOTR, Park Open and Amateur). In 2002, Janet was named unanimous U.S. National Champion in both purebred English Pleasure AOTR 40 and over, and Park AOTR with multi-national champion Magalad. In 2003 Janet will begin a new endeavor with her new horse Allusion MTA where they have already been named Champion their first time in the ring. Janet is pictured with 14 time national champion Magalad.

Morgan Farrar -- If Morgan Farrar had her way, she would spend all day on the back of a horse. During Morgan's youth career, she earned national champions and reserves at the U.S. and Canadian Nationals in Half-Arabian English Pleasure and Half-Arabian Country Pleasure as well as 2002 her first year as an adult amateur, being named U.S. Top Ten in one of our most difficult divisions Half-Arabian English Pleasure 18-39. Morgan is currently a freshman at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Morgan is pictured with multi-national champion Illusionist, owned by her parents, Joe and Gayle Farrar.

Grayson Farrar -- When Grayson Farrar is not showing you can probably find him on any golf course that is close to home or the Fair Grounds. In both 13 and under and 14-17 divisions, Grayson has achieved Youth National Reserve Championships in Half-Arabian English Pleasure and Half-Arabian Pleasure Driving as well as Regional Champions and Top Ten honors in Purebred English Pleasure. Grayson is a sophomore at Hilton Head Academy in South Carolina where he is concentrating on his future as a professional golfer. Watch for Grayson this year in English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving. Grayson is pictured on Paris to London owned by Joe and Gayle Farrar.

Kingsley DeSpain -- Kingsley DeSpain has met every challenge ever put in front of her whether it be in Saddle-Seat Equitation, Country Pleasure or Ladies Side-Saddle winning national champions and reserves in all three divisions. 2003 marks her final year as a youth rider where she will compete in these three divisions on the young Half-Arabian mare owned by her parents Joel and Robin DeSpain, Ladie Ghazi. Currently a Senior at Dripping Springs High School, where academically she was honored with the Senior Class President as well as sitting on the Homecoming Court. In 2004 Kingsley DeSpain will go to college at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Kingsley is pictured with the national winning Half-Arabian Gelding High N Mighty.

Quincy DeSpain -- Quincy DeSpain is an 11 time national and reserve champion in Saddle-Seat Equitation UPHA Challenge Cup as well as English Pleasure and Country Pleasure and Ladies Side-Saddle. Quincy is currently a Junior at the University of Texas in Austin where she is working on her business degree in management and marketing. With her busy school schedule, Quincy stills finds time to ride and show with Battaglia Farms for her parents Joel and Robin DeSpain. Quincy is pictured with multi-champion Queen of Harlem.

Corrine Stith -- Corrine Stith long time friend and associate of Bob and Battaglia Farms road together as children at Lincoln Park Riding Academy in Chicago, Illinois. Together Bob and Corrine have bred and shown national winners in halter and performance with such great horses like Lucille Ball RB, US National Champion Half-Arabian Futurity Mare. Pictured is EA Miz Bayberry multi-champion Country Pleasure and Show Hack.

Carol Chiaverini -- Carol Chiaverini long-time friend and client of Battaglia Farms. Carol resides at her 25 acre estate in Somis, California where she raises and breeds purebred Arabian Performance Horses. Carol and her late husband, Doug Chiaverini, owned such great performance horses as JDM Rain Dance, Striking Fire, and RCR Notorious. Chiaverini Arabians youngsters include two siblings to multi-national champion Magalad and a young stallion Pure Glory by Heir To Glory. Pictured is JDM Ballerina full sister to JDM Rain Dance.

Beth Watkins -- Beth Watkins a multi-national champion in English Pleasure AOTR Purebred and Half-Arabian. Beth and the Watkins family earned an unprecedented 18 national champions and reserves in a three year period with Battaglia Farms. Beth currently has just graduated from St. Mary's Law School in San Antonio, Texas and adding to her accolades was National Honors in the Moot Court for St. Mary's Law School defeating Harvard and Yale Universities. We expect Beth to return to the show ring in 2004, this time riding young horses bred by her parents Phil and Shirley Watkins. Beth is pictured with multi-champion Padrons Glorious.

Suzanne Watkins -- Suzanne Watkins is the most nationally decorated saddle-seat equitation rider of our time winning all national divisions in the U.S. and Canada, 13 and under as well as 14-17. Adding to Suzanne's many talents as a saddle-seat equitation rider she also holds national champion titles in Purebred Pleasure Driving and Purebred English Pleasure. Suzanne and her family have won an unprecedented 18 national champions and reserves in a three year period with Battaglia Farms. We expect Suzanne to return to the show arena in 2004 this time riding young horses bred by her parents Phil and Shirley Watkins. Suzanne is pictured with multi-national champion TAF Tres Jolie.

Amy Blankenship Williams -- Amy Blankenship Williams and the entire Kehilan Arabians family have been long time clients and friends of Battaglia Farms with many wins at Scottsdale, ProAm Challenge, U.S. and Canadian Nationals. 2003 will be the first year of national competition for Amy to ride her new horse The Empress NA. The duo has already accomplished regional wins and will exhibit at the national shows in 2003. Amy holds many national titles to her credit in Saddle-Seat Equitation, English Pleasure, Country Pleasure and Native Costume. Along with Amy's love for horses, she has a very busy career as a speech pathologist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Amy is pictured riding Multi National Champion "Miss Hollywood".

Amanda Sitomer -- A new addition to Battaglia Farms, so far in 2003 has been undefeated in Purebred English Pleasure, JOTR with her new mount Fiona DGL. Already an accomplished rider with multiple Regional, Class A, and Top Ten honors in English Pleasure, Country Pleasure and Saddle Seat Equitation. Amanda is a Senior Honor Roll Student at St. Agnes Academy in Houston, TX. She will be graduating this year and attending Auburn University in Alabama. Her proud parents are Dr. Charles and Germania Sitomer. Battaglia Farms welcomes Amanda Sitomer! Amanda is pictured riding Fiona DGL.

George Jackson II -- George Jackson II is a 7th grade honor student who has distinguished himself in citizenship. He will be attending boarding school at St. Stephens Episcopal in Austin, Texas in the fall 2003. Already a National Champion in Western Pleasure with his Half-Arabian gelding Impressive Star, George starts a new endeavor riding the multi-national Champion SWF Central Park in Half-Arabian Country Pleasure JOTR and JTR 13 & under for the 2003 show season. George's hobbies include: girls, food, cars and sleep in that order. When he is not riding, you can usually find him playing soccer with his goat Hollister. George is pictured with SWF Central Park.

Elizabeth Sitomer -- Elizabeth needs no introduction to the Arabian World. She has many Nationals honors in Saddle Seat as well as a National Championship in Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure. Elizabeth is a Junior at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas working on her major in Education with an emphasis on Special Ed as well as Communication Management. Along with Elizabeth's busy schedule she still finds time to sing opera and play lacrosse and soccer. She is pictured with Multi-National Champion Fiona DGL, owned by Charles and Germania Sitomer.

Jane Ann Godsey -- Involved with horses since the young age of seven and has shown successfully in Saddle Seat Hunter Jumper and Show Hack. Jane has achieved many National Top Ten Honors in her career. Jane Ann starts her new endeavor in 2003 with the Multi-Champion Purebred Mare EA Miz Bey Berry. Along with her busy career as a pharmacist, Jane Ann still finds time to spend with her retired Arabian stallion Tyfoon+, the duo achieved many National honors in their career. Jane Ann is pictured with Tyfoon+.

Lori Lawrence -- Lori Lawrence of Starline Arabians is the consummate Horsewoman. Lori and her family reside in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Lori is nationally re known for her winning Whippets. Lori is pictured riding U.S. National Reserve Champion Half-Arabian Country Pleasure Jr. Horse "A Heart Throb".

Olivia Stull -- In a two year career with Battaglia Farms Olivia has won over 10 National Championships in Park, Show Hack, Ladies Side Saddle, and Arabian Native Costume. Olivia is pictured riding one of the most winning Arabian horses in the Industry "EA Galaxy".

Linda Musso -- Linda Musso is a native of Alabama, and a nationally competitive tennis player. Linda started riding just 3 years ago, and in 2004 joined Battaglia Farms. In that short time she has won multiple Regional Championships as well as U.S. Top Tens in both English Pleasure and Country Pleasure. Linda and her husband Vincent reside in Birmingham, Alabama. Linda is pictured riding Multi Regional Champion "Ingenue".

Brianna York -- Brianna is one of our industries most well rounded amateur riders. Brianna has won the Triple Crown in Western Pleasure as well as multiple National Championships in both Half Arabian Show Hack and Ladies Sidesaddle. Brianna, along with her parents Mike and Barbara York reside in Philomath, Oregon. Brianna is pictured riding Multi National Champion "Ladighazi".

Mark Mulzet and Susan Dresher-Mulzet -- Susan and Mark became involved with Arabian horses in 2005. Susan had come to visit a friend's horse and immediately developed a passion for both the Arabian and the Half Arabian horse. In a period of just one short year, Susan has committed herself to to developing her riding skills. At her first U.S. National Championships, Susan was awarded a Top Ten in Half Arabian Country Pleasure. Dremel Enterprises owns such great horses as Reserve National Champion "Infinity", the young Monrovia X daughter "My Chanell" and Multi National Champion "Allusion MTA". Bob is pictured here with Reserve National Champion "Rubie Slippers".

Mike York -- Mike has spent all of his spare time being the "ultimate horse show Dad" supporting his daughter Brianna in every way possible. In 2005 Mike decided that he wanted to learn to drive. In a very short period of time Mike has won many Regional Championships in AOTD. Pictured is Mike's driving mare "DH The Tigress".
